K Laser Technology CFBU Design Lab
The K Laser Technology CFBU Design Lab is not only a service, but a dedicated space and resource provided to the creative minds, those eager to challenge new ideas and continue their journey into label and package design. The Design Lab provides an education to those of all levels; junior graphic artists starting their education to those with many years of experience. Education covers many topics including “what is cold foil,” “how will this elevate and compliment the product and brand,” and “how do I setup my files?” With the capability to provide support live or virtually with our team of experts, creatives at every level can take advantage of our unique resource.
The Design Lab is not only for creatives, there are resources for printers and converters alike. An in-house press is available for research and development, testing, and educating for both flexo and digital printing (by way of our retrofitted digital print head, embellX). This demonstration center also holds the capability to host virtual and live demonstrations. The K Laser Technology CFBU signature cold foil is proven with its overprint capabilities, see it in action with our Viridian eco-paper and eco-paperboard™.
Viridian™ eco-paper and eco-paperboard® is 100% recyclable. It does not contain laminating film which is traditionally on paper and paperboard so it can be pulped along with the paper. There is no extra work of removing the foil from its’ backing resulting in a fully renewable, sustainable, and recyclable product.
The Mockup service offers the unique opportunity for K Laser Technology to provide creatives, designers, printers, and converters a visual draft of the potential label design with actual foil. It allows the decision-makers the opportunity to see how various visual elements work together.
Eye-catching metallic effects are one of the latest highlights of the digital print revolution. With all the traditional digital benefits of easy artwork, no-make-ready, instant production, economic short runs, one-offs, and variable data, digital embellishments are now easier to apply than ever. Most importantly, there’s no need for conventional metal dies, which take time and money to order and set up for each print job.
The embellX Digital Cold Foil Module is now available as a retrofit to all makes of flexographic presses. This innovative digital module enables metallic foils and holograms to be digitally applied to various label and packaging substrates, efficiently, and economically.
